Ive been wanting to make a dedicated head for notching pistons. Every modular owner needs notched pistons to runs cams worth having. Notching the pistons allows the valves more space to open eliminating piston to valve contact while the cams are at overlap.
I took a junk npi head for the dedicated base and made some oversize valve simulators with long stems to chuck on with a hand drill.
To guage my depth, I made collars with set screws to lock down after I use shims to get my desired depth.
For the cutting surface, I picked up sticky backed velcro and corse orbital velcro backed sandpaper.
