I'm mainly talking about the weight, but post the kind and weight if you want.

From the previous owner a sticker on my front window says, '5-30" , but we run 5-20 or 5-20 SAE.

What do you run?

Ford switched to the 5w-20 in the late 90's to help with the CAFE standards...the thinner oil is better for gas milage.

i run 5w-30 amsoil or royal purple or mobile1 synthetic depending on what i can get on sale that time of year.
i'm also going to switch to amsoils long life oil filters...supposed to be good for 10k miles

5 quarts Mobil 1 10w30 with a quart of lucas. i will not put on anything besides a wicks oil filter.

I had a test on all the oil out about 2 years ago. Mobil and Mobil 1 did the best.

Napa gold oil filters are suppose to be made by wicks. supposely a wicks with a different name. just dont run a fram.

10W40 Pennzoil. I use it in the Mustang and the Taurus.I've never used anything but Pennzoil,it got me over 200,000 in my 5.0 T-Bird and it never gave up in any of my Turbo Coupes either.I second the motion on the conventional oil. There's been plenty of old school hot rod racers and builders long before my time that never had anything but and they got along just fine so,it's good enough for me.

my car ran perfect no noises with 5/30 i just run heavier so it doesn't blow out clouds of smoke on startup and after idling... amazing what little seals the size of your fingertip can cause

We bought some penzoil ONCE!

It seized the 302 9n our 87 f150
seized the motor in the tractor
and killed our lawn mower...
