I've been looking up parts for my 1998 gt and some listings will say 1996-1997 what makes the 1998 different? If some one could point me in the direction of an article that explains all the difference that would be much appreciated.

Now you know how us 94-95 owners feel...we are always by ourselves in the parts lists ...if we even appear at all. You are a redder headed stepchild I guess.

So with the tanks what years can we swap to? 96-97 only or all like a 94-97? Figure need the tank, neck, sending unit and pump bracket?

since I'm currently doing my tank I was told in the middle of 98 production Ford decided to experiment with newer tank sending units, filler necks with overflow, and different size tank grommet/donut. You can check the build date or look under the car and find out which one you have.

Do you have the build date windows/cutoffs?

Just went thru this when I was sold a 98 chassis harness (told it was a 97) to rewire my 97........... Rear fuel harness AND chassis harness AND ECM pinning is different:

97 vs 98 rear fuel harness connector on the chassis side:
