im stumped on which 1 i should get...overall i wanna be able to have roughly 500rwhp yet still maintain a decent mpg, considering it'll be driven often, and also drive it to my club gtg's/cruises, and Mustang Events, like MW, WFC, Carlisle, etc
if the 96-98 is PIed it will be faster than a 94-95 gt. stock vs. stock the 94-95 is slightely faster and parts are cheaper, of course thats all down the drain when the 96-98 is PI.
500hp sucks gas like a hoe on a battleship. lol. Im not even sure of my gas mileage ive never tried to figure it out (dont wanna know). Im a reg at the mobil station though lol. And i have to run 93 :comando:
id say get a 94-95 and save the $$ you would put into a pi swap. Parts are going to be cheaper for the 5.0. Just dont get too greedy and grenade the block. I suppose the 4.6 would get a little better mpg but who builds a mustang for mpg? ;D
i have been thinking bout that if i go the 4.6 route, instead of swapping the entire motor, probly would save myself some money in the long run quick question, how much hp can the block take, after i do forged internals? sry im still kind of a newbie to the 4.6's
I think if i were to get another stang now I between a 2 valve mod or a 5.0 push rod I would go with the old school push rod. Purely on a financial per performance dollar stand point........
the block can take a pretty good dosage of power.. the internals are what limit you. *correct me if im wrong.
this is true, the block will last up to around 800HP i believe, the stock internals are rated at about 400-450
there is a guy at turbomustang.com running 10's and claiming i think 20 mpg or around there.... ill find it brb
here is the stang if you scroll down to his backround read it and you will see it .... is he really getting that i dont know for sure :dunno: http://www.theturboforums.com/feature_cars/chadm.php
