Thats what i am thinking about right now .. I was looking around 300 at wheels also. What do your guys think? I am looking for a nice street strip car.. Which set-up do you think is better? Or please help me set one up with these parts listed or please substitute parts. I am on a budget so I cant afford big tiem heads or intakes or such

If you're going to spend the money on HCI, you can make a lot more power than either of those combos above for the same or slightly more money.

AFR165/185 heads
Systemax II
Pick a popular cam or have one ground
30 lb injectors
255 lph pump
MAF
75mm TB
Nitrous Works Wet Kit

There are some h/c/i kits too that are priced reasonable and each part is made for the other. So you dont run into matching problems.

I went with this setup:

AFR 165 - $1349
FRPP F303 - $189
GT40 intake (used) - $325
Harland Sharp Rockers - $200
ARP head bolts - $40
ARP intake bolts - $23
Professional Products throttle body - $135
Gaskets and odds and ends - $100

TOTAL = $2361

This was my last 5.0 setup in my 91 GT.....

95 ShortBlock 60K miles on it
E303 cam
Edelbrock rpm heads ( the newer ones )
Edelbrock RPM I intake
70 TB with EGR delete
76 C&L Massair
BBK Coldair
1.6 ADJ rocker arms

Mac Longtubes
Mac H pipe
2 1/2 Flows

311rwhp on the dyno with NO TUNE with a world class T-5

did you have stock hypertonic pistons that came in the 95 motors? Because i heard that you really can't use those heads with those kind of pistons. I am not sure that is just what i heard. Thats what kind of power i am looking for not alot, but not too-little. Ever take that combo to the track

Where did you hear that at?? Thats complete BS, yes they were the stock hypertonic pistons. It was a great combo and made super power for what it was.

not being able to use edelbrock heads because of hyper pistons... that is bs. the only reason for not being able to use some heads with pistons is because of piston to valve clearance. I about garuentee that edelbrocks will clear stock pistons.
