That's not bad for a 50K mile motor. As long as it is in good shape.

This is going to sound insane but I picked up a ready to drop in 96 Cobra motor with the ecu for $1300 with 60k on it. I think I just got real lucky.

Buy it! I've seen much higher prices just for the 4V motor without the harness and ECU.

2003 cobra shortblock ran on svtp for 4k

3500 for a full b-head sounds about right.

Personally I think thats crazy. There are three guys locally with 03 shortblocks for 1500 for less. I can buy 96-98 engines for 1500, hell the whole car only cost 4-6k now.

well, cobras (and mustangs) arent as popular around here... i have to go off of what i can find... id sell my left nut to find a terminator shortblock for $1500.00.. .. The cheapest i found was when i was looking for my motor and it was $4k on SVTP. No heads, just block, rotating assembly, and oil pan.

So, when i found my entire engine + computer parts for $5k (ish? i forget, its been so long. LOL) i jumped on it.

for an extra $1700, you can also get the rest of the car, all put together by Ford Motor Company.

no assembly required...

true. obviously most of that value isnt in the white paint that flakes off in waffle-sized chunks, or the coolant tank that leaks when its 3 years old.... :p
