The sizes you were shooting for are typically used on 17x9, not 17x8.
If you do, however, actually have 17x9’s, the possibilities are increased dramatically

The new nitto 555 g2’s fit Super narrow especially the 555r2 I’ve got 275/40/17 on 17x9 and they’re not wide enough .

Yes, I ran the Nitto 555 R2’s 315/35x17 on 17x10.5” wheels in back with Nitto 555 R2 275/40x17’s on 17x9” fronts.
I had NO FITMENT ISSUES at all, even with the rear quad shocks in place!

Nittos are known for running a bit more narrow than most of the other brands. That's plenty of clearance. You can also flip the quad too if it ever did rub, or just remove them.

I had expected to have to flip the quads, but ended up not having to, as you can see. BTW, this is on a ‘95 Cobra coupe (if that matters?)

Damn you still got room to party
Lol, yeah I heard that 335’s would fit, but those 315’s are beefy enough, and with offsets you suffer handling.

Totally I’ve got 17” deep dish bullits with 315’s I haven’t test fitted on any of my cars but now I’m sure they’ll clear
