I have a decision to make, due to my bent wheel during a track event. I can have it fixed...maybe...so thought I'd get a new complete set and put some bigger tires on them. Again, these are just track tires. So, I tried to get another FR500 black/machined set from LMR and they won't be carrying them anymore. I've run some all black ones, but they don't appeal to me, eventhoug they're just for track. I can get a set of Anthracite and I use the Bullitt Anthracite on my street tires, but I like the look of the black/machined wheels. Now, all that aside, I found some black/machined at American Muscle, but haven't done business with them. Also, size a bit different.
LMR: 17x9" 24mm offset, 5.85 backspace
AM: 17x9" 30mm offset, 6.20 backspce
What I'm concerned about is the fit. I know the LMR's work, but not sure if I'll get rubbing with the AM's. Looks like about 1/4" I'll be running 275/40x17 Nitto 01's square setup.

I usually start to duel immediately when considering and shopping new wheels, but…. After reading your predicament and researching the wheels you’re considering (but aren’t available), a couple of options (one from each side of my brain so I can play Devil’s Advocate with myself!) came to my feeble mind: (1) get the silver FR500’s and have them machined & powdered black; or (2) save a couple grand and have the one wheel fixed for a couple hundred!

Wifey clipped a curb in her grand Cherokee recently. Dented the rim. Luckily there’s a wheel fixer-upper nearby and they knocked it out in under a week for $300. Thing looks factory new :)

If I get the FR500's in Anthracite, they'll stay that way. These again are track wheels, but could be used for street so I always take care of all my sets just in case. Yeah, I looked into repairing and might go that route to see if it can be repaired. I might get lucky and if so, get more years out of them.

I did have a full set of "rim rash" on our older BMW, which we sold, and that person did them with tires mounted (I took them off) and did a bang up job. Trouble is, the franchise is not to be found. But, I do have a source for this one.
