Ok, I have a 1995 GT convertible, it has aftermarket wheels on it. I absolutely hate the way the rear wheel is set inboard so far. (See pics below)
Were the factory wheels offset differently from front to rear or was it designed like this?
I want to get new wheels and tire later down the road but would a spacer be a wise choice for the rear? I have never run spacers before so no experience with them.
Thanks in advance 20230627_162555.jpg20230627_162539.jpg

Your wheel offset is greater than stock which is amplifying the effect but yes the rear wheels are inset slightly from the factory. About a 20mm-25mm spacer will make whatever wheels you have fit the same way in back that they do in front. Some people choose to go further than that.

If you had stock wheels the rears would still look inset a bit but not as much.

A more extreme modification is to swap a whole rear axle in from a New Edge which is 40mm wider (20mm per side) but that would be a waste of effort just for width.. mostly worth doing if you're getting some other upgrades (gearing, lsd, etc) along with it.
