I have a pair of BFG drag radials 315//40/17 on 17x10.5 rims. The tires just barely clear my exhaust pipes. So when taking particular turns or driving over bumps I will get a slight rub.

I am unfamiliar with wheel spacers but was wondering if these could help me out. I probably would only need about a 1/4 in. spacer. What are different types of spacers and what are some common concerns I should be aware of when using these. Thanks a lot.

There are hubcentric spacers with studs built in you can use but there generally only 1" and larger.

There are the style that you slip over your exisitng studs but you have to watch that you get enough turns on when you put your wheels back on, the best thing to do is get longer and stronger studs.

You mainly have to watch to make sure your tire will not rub on the inner lip of your fender or it can easily cut and shread your tire or bend your fender, you can roll the fender slightly to 'help' avoid this.
