I have A 97 Gt and i am getting new wheels soon but i don't like the look of the wheel sitting in about 2in from the fender now. What would be the best way to fix this without wheel spacers because I don't see many cars with the same problem It only has the stock 225's on it now

If you are getting 17" get a larger tire. Go with something like a 275/45/17 or even a 315 series depending on what width rim you are getting.

You will need at least a 9 inch wheel to run a 315. American musle has great deals on wheels. You can pick up a set of polished 03 cobra wheels with a 17x 10.5 inch wheels for less the 150 per wheel. No need to go 10.5 in the fronts. 275s up front and 315s in the back will set your pony up right. Cobra's R's are nice but out here in CA there played out. Go with the 03 cobra's or something different.

I would think a 315 would really be balloned on a 9 inch wheel. I wouldnt go over 275 with a 9 incher. I have 10.5 wheels with 275s and there isnt anymore gap from the outside of the fender.

yea 315's would NOT be the size to put on a 9 inch wheel 275 would be the max I would do

I always hated how the rears were sucked in.
Nice offset on the back and you'll be fine.

Just get the tire that fits the rim?
You can plus size them a little, but there's no need to balloon them if you're getting new wheels.

9 - 275
10 - 295
10.5 - 315

I have 275's on my stock wheels. The bulge isn't alll that at all. My buddy has 9 inch satin cobra r's with 315s and they only have alittle bulge nothing serious at all. If you run a nitto tire they run smaller from what i've heard on the side wall and the bulge is almost non existant. I have pictures if you would like.
