Where is the end of the negative battery cable supposed to bolt?

It has been so long (~4 years) since I took this apart, I don't remember where the end of the negative battery cable bolted to. I vaguely recall it bolting to one of the motor mounts, but I'm not sure. There is a bolt hole on this aluminum block, but it's on the driver's side above the oil filter, and the cable is just too long to bolt it there (and I don't remember it being bolted there). Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

one end goes to the core support(bright green screw if it is still there) right next to the battery. For the motor IIRC the factory location, or at least where mine is mounted to it is right next to the oil sender behind the belt there is a stud for grounding. If you do use a motor mount be sure that the terminal is in direct contact with the block, not with the mount/through the bolt, into the block. Those will work for a while but resistance will build slowly.

Thanks I appreciate your reply. Unfortunately that stud doesn't exist on this block. I think I'll try to route it so I can bolt it to the threaded hole above the oil filter. Yes I agree, bolting it directly to the block is best.

The other place I recommend putting a ground from the chassis to the block is at the starter, as long as you are not running longtubes it is not hard to add. You can use a 6-8" piece of ground wire and ground it to one of the bolts the starter mounts with. It is almost ideal there as the starter will pull WAY more current than any other part on the car so having the ground to it as short as possible is a good thing.
