I am having a little problem finding this lower air deflector for the 96 GT we are redoing. The one on it has hit about every curb in a 3-state radius and whoever painted the car last painted right over it. All the ones I have found for sale do not look like the one on the car. IMG_0315B.jpg

Where can I find a replacement?

the chin spoiler is not at all the same as the air deflector. It is purely cosmetic where the deflector is to help with cooling. If your not having temp problems I would not worry about it but on some cars I know they need it

It also would not be too hard to wet sand/polish the tint off of the side reflectors if it is a spray on tint.

Yeah.. Until I read the rest of the thread, I thought he meant the deflector on the core support too.

Aren't those plastic sheets that surround the swaybar and hug along the framerail also air deflectors? Or maybe I misread as well.

He has a green circle in the lower right corner of the pic. I believe those two pieces along with the center one under the radiator support do, indeed, assist with cooling airflow.

As to obtaining those, used is likely the only source.

it was so far in the corner I never saw those lol
yea sorry for the poor graphics but YES, it is the air deflector for the radiator that wraps around to the sides of the front bumper cover. It looks like this piece is not remanufactured. If i cannot find one, I think I am going to do the Mach chin spoiler and then build a sheet metal air deflector under the car to direct air in the opening. I have used them on the Corvettes I tracked, and it seemed to work pretty well (like photo below).

Eh, I disagree. To me, it usually looks like it "just doesn't belong" on the 94-98 cars, though I have seen a few installations where it looks good. Maybe it's certain colors or other body mods that make it fit in those cases, but IMO, the sharp lines of the chin spoiler generally don't look right with the curves of the 94-98 front end.

P.S. I also think it looks OK on a 4-eyed Fox and not on the 87-93's for the same reason.

If you don't line it up just right looks bad
I took the bumper cover off and fit mine
I worked mine from nose back to fender well part

I also make sure it sits in the sun for a few hrs

I did like them enough to have one but that was around the 2005 area when they were not on every sn95. Now I think that they are a little played out. I think kind of like bullet wheels they look good on sn95, but again just too many of them.

I had a similar issue when i rebuilt front end of mine (complete bumper assy. And frame rail). The 3 piece spoiler including those outer corner pieces where aweful and i could not source any. Only option IMO was so I did the Mach 1 chin spoiler along with a new piece in behind under the Rad and couldn't be happier. My GTS with fog light upgrade and Cervani hood. 1st pic is after one year couple small scratches but it is still holding its shape and colour. 2nd pic new (pre cervani hood). Danny

Mine is on the very edge of the bottom of the bumper cover so it fans out forward
If you look at the very bottom it sticks out 20220605_112326.jpg
