No way is it a waste of time on an auto. Who told you that? Every 10 sec car i know has an auto of some type. No one shifts faster than an auto. I do alot of bracket racing and I wish i had an auto. You need a shift kit and stall and you will be all set. I would think you need at least 4.10's also to get your rpms up. I get boost around 3000 rpms. That should not be hard to hit with 4.10's and a shift kit. I might be wrong but im thinkin a s/c is not a waste of time at all.

A supercharger is not a waste on any vehicle, i would definatly go with the 4.10's, i have them in my auto car and I wouldnt change them, the rpm difference from 3.73's to 4.10's on average is about 300rpm, as for the getting the car reprogrammed i never had this problem, ive heard of a couple people whom have but the problem was solved by manually shifting the car.
