Which engine is this?

I just got this engine two days ago and i cant figure out exactly what it is! All that i know is that it's a 302 and, the block casting number is E7TE. I'm new to the whole ford thing, i need help.

Thats part of the prob.. the guy i bought it from had it in a lincoln, but when i look up the casting number it says that its an 87 truck engine. One of my buddies told me that there was no way that its an 87, but he didnt really have a basis for his theory.. i guess the main question is, does this engine have a roller or flat tappet type cam.

That could be right, it could be out of an 87 truck. Books don't lie and your friends aren't psychics. Probably a hydraulic cam

i'd say an 87 truck engine sounds right, basically a carb'd version of an 87 5.0 mustang motor..
