Which motor oil?

10w30 all year long on Motorcraft swaped out every 5,000 miles (135,000 and running strong) also using FL1A filter

I used to use Castrol Syntec 5w-30 in my car until I found out that it was not a true full synthetic. It is kind of hard to believe, but it is true: Castrol Syntec is just extremly highly refined dead plant matter and not a true synthetic. I switched to Mobil 1 5w-30 and I use WIX filters. I am happy with both products.

I'll get a link up explaining the Castrol situation as soon as I can find it.

I'm curious to read up on this further. Because that's all I used to use is Castrol Syntec. The last couple times I have used Mobil 1 but that's just cause it's been like $2 cheaper for the 5 qt container.

castrol gtx 10w - 30. 3-4k miles. used an oil additive aways back on the explorer and oil came out clumpy. never again. but full synthetic even if i have to change up in a pinch.

I use to use the Mobil clean 5000 in my Jeep 4.0 L-6 and did a great job

By the way, and I am in no way knocking Castrol but they buy their oil and put it in a bottle. I remeber years ago they were buying from amalie/kendall. They do have strict standards for the oil the buy

Mobil 1 but Im going to try Royal Purple. Car on the engine dyno picked up 8 HP on Horsepower TV with just Royal Purple :banana:
