I have 255/40's now. I don't like the way they look...the edge of the rim sticks out too far past the sidewall. What do you guys run on your front 17x9's? (I have '03 cobra's).

THANKS :thumb:

I have 245s on the front of mine, and I have the same problem as you. only way to get rid of that is to go to a 275/40/17 By stepping up to the 45 series you are making the tire too tall.

I'm not sure if there's enough clearance for a 275. That's just huge for the front. I figured maybe a taller sidewall would make it look better. I dunno...I really need to see PICTURES! My car REALLY needs to be lowered in the front, so that's not helping either.

I can show you what a 255/40 looks like on a 9 inch rim in the front of my old 97gt...give me a min to find it.

those are the best I can find.

Many people run 275s on the front though.

oh, sorry. really the olny thing you can do, and keep it in relation to the rear tires is to go with 275s

I do have 275's on the rear, I could put them on the front and see how they look and if they clear. :hammer:

I ran 275's on the front for several years and they fit fine but i didn't like the way they tracked in the ruts on highways so when i purchased new wheels i went with a 8.5 front so i could use a 255/35/18 and it was a huge improvement. I used to run a 275/35 on a 9" front.

Your dilemma is the wheel size, 9" is perfect for a 275 but you might be ok with a 265 front...

Yeah, I agree...problem is rim size. 17x8 would be better on the front. Do you know if anyone makes a replica '03 cobra rim in a 17x8?

I have a bit more room than you, and I run a 1 inch spacer.

I'm running 275's in front now with no problem. DropTop is right, they track terrible in every rut and dip.

here's a pix of mine now...it looks like it doesn't fit right. The sidewall is in too far.
