I decided to hire out the tuning to be done remotely and am happy as hell about it. Got to drive it last night in a normal fashion, without needing three feet to keep it running and cooking out my eyeballs with rich exhaust fumes. Very happy.

I’ve got to put some miles on it and have another appointment with the tuner to tweak things. So it’s finally time to clean this thing up. Last night I washed down the engine bay since it had numerous fluids spilled/leaked all over, mainly antifreeze. Then washed the years of gunk off the outside.

And tonight I got about half-way done with polishing it. Of course, ten years of looking forward to this and it’s going to rain all weekend. Oh well, good excuse to stay in the garage and get it cleaned up. The hood and tops of the fenders were the only things polished when I took the picture. Notice the color difference to the front bumper cover. Not a paint difference, that’s just ten years of sitting in the driveway.

Not much to show this weekend. Polished the entire car. New power steering pump showed up.

Also got all the glass polished and sealed. Waiting for sealant to haze in this picture.

Not that I even drive it in the rain but I still had to do it.

I also made gaskets for the wing out of a roll of gasket-maker I’ve got.

That’s about it for the weekend. Time to help the wife with the garden for Mother’s Day.

So I noticed the tensioner, because it doesn’t sit square, was causing the belt to walk forward on the balancer.

Fixed. I’m quite certain this isn’t the last time I’ll have to mess with this but at least it’s running true enough to not be a problem.

B2617B2F-B59B-4F9F-BBA8-9DE1F58224C6.jpeg

Took it to work for the first time. Wasn’t running well at all. Almost like back to untuned state.

Had another appointment with the tuner and he was looking at the datalog and says “whoooaaa… here’s a problem”

Coolant and IAT have some major electrical noise.

I also noticed that the new male plug that I soldered on had an issue. I put the new plug on and thought I was good. Turns out the motor side plug was shot as well.

I was able to get a replacement motor from the parts store. But when I went to install it the fan busted clean out the center. So that sucks. Ordered new fan from LMR and returned the motor to O’Reilly.

Got my fuel pressure gauge mounted. I decided to buy the same gauge I have on the 7.3 since it’s a solid gauge and reasonably priced. Everything I’ve gotten from Strictly Diesel has been of good quality.

So now I’ve got to rip the front end panels back off and install new CLT and IAT sensors along with new wiring from the sensors to the MS.

Damn she’s cleaning up good after the polish . Few more bugs to tweak out and it’s smooth sailing for summer . I’ve always loved that spoiler on your car

Unfortunately I’ve gotten very busy with some house projects and haven’t had much time for the car. I’ve just been trying to get some wiring done here and there.

12B5EFBB-5B3A-4F17-B829-2B724F2BE7C0.jpeg

I finally decided to replace/extend the wires going to the fuse box. That felt good since I spent so much time on the engine bay and the wires running to it were a major eye sore. Now I can work on the door I made to cover it.

Not much else to show except for some random 6.7 Powerstroke house work pics.
