Left the car on the charger overnight and decided to run the car again after work today. Put a few turns on the throttle stop because it wouldn’t run without throttle input last night. It started much quicker than before but I noticed right away the throttle stop adjustment was a bad idea.

Sounds good though! Adjusted the stop again and tried again. This time it ran on it’s own but was making noises I didn’t like.

At first I thought it was an exhaust leak and went to town trying to find it. Quite the pain in the ass I might add but it wasn’t the problem. Decided to start the car again and try find the noise while it was running.

Instead of sulking and having a bad evening I just dug into it. At first, I didn’t see the issue because I was looking for signs of obvious wear.

Quickly found these loose cam phaser bolts and fixed it. Had to step out for a stupid shallow, 12 pt, 10mm socket so this repair cost me $4.75.

I think the next turn would’ve spelled disaster. Talk about a close shave with tragedy.

yes actually like the sound of yours. I have always thought the 2v and cobra motors sounded better. I tend to like the really loud coyotes, but not sure i could live with a loud one. I mean i like good exhaust sound but uncorked no cats no baffles or nuttin is just too much for regular driving. Ill get some video of my bassani this weekend just for the hell of it.

The next logical step was to system check the PWM fan controller and to begin checking the coolant system.

Seems the radiator opening was tweaked at some point but I’ve since straightened it out.

Heat cycled the car! The good news is the engine idles happily but the bad news is my thermostat appears to be stuck. The fan ramps up when the temperature rises as programmed so I can check that box. More to come.

It certainly has a nice tone. Can’t wait to hear it on the road.

Sorry for not mentioning you had to clear the tunnel during install.

We even had to chop my safety loop.

Anyways, the car looks stellar! You're kicking some serious ass on it this go-around.

It looks like this thing will be rolling here in the next few months, no?

No worries. It was quickly remedied and it was onto the next thing.

Yes, I’m intending to drive the car very soon. Even just pulling out of the carport under it’s own power would be a large victory.

No luck with the coolant system. There could be air trapped in the block. Going to put the rear tires on the ground to raise the nose up some. Get the radiator higher than the engine and maybe it’ll help with bleeding air out.

The coolant sensor is in the rear of the passenger cylinder head. The common method for connecting an aftermarket temperature gauge is to use the block heater port. They’re said to read about 8-10* difference between the two and I’m waiting on confirmation of this.

Still working on the cold air intake and I’m not really close to satisfied with it yet.

So, dropped my shift light idea into the cardboard template and I’m on the fence. I’m not sure if I like it there or not.

it does seem like its just kind of hanging out there. I bet the side view isn't much better. Maybe if it were smoothed into the column cover.

Clearly it’s never going to become a show car and I’m ok with exposed wiring and such. This should give you an idea what I’m working with. The facia is removable.
