Lined my tail pipes up a few days ago but it still bangs the PHB. The only thing that will fix this is adding muffler hangers.
Got back to tackling my pinion angle issue. It’s easy to take a reading on the balancer but I’m not sure I trust the readings. My original readings were 4.2* and 1.7* (front and back)
This is 4.2* (90 - 85.6) as measured on the balancer itself.
Decided to check the digital angle finder with my protractor, which gave me 3.5*
Then tried again with a straight edge and it gave me 3.9*.
Ok, that’s clear as mud but let’s move to the rear. I’ve added two spacers to each side to add 1* of angle. My initial reading gave me 3.3*.
I tried this again with the straight edge and the reading was 1*. Hmm, I have to remove the driveshaft to get the best reason at the rear end.
Yeah, that ain’t happening today. I put the car on the ground and took it for a spin. It seems to vibrate significantly less above 70 mph and I’ve decided to drive it to work tomorrow.
