Thank you sir. It has been a very rough road with this car. They sure have a way of making you feel every emotion there is don’t ever give up!!

We will discuss transferring the mantle at a later date

A few years back I ordered new floor mats for my truck and I am sure I got the cheapest I could find. It was not long after that time that sat for a little while and we had a lot of rain. You can only imagine the surprised amazement when I opened the door to find a mushroom growing out of the mat.

There were a couple of hiccups along the way but nothing a couple of men couldn’t sort through. Especially by me throwing a little money around, haha!

Wound up having to take the battery out of Williams truck and still had to jump the starter solenoid to start the car. Once it did start, I was able to start her by the key.

I’m thankful for William’s hard work and determination. I have been sick at home with Covid and was very easily fatigued. He wouldn’t let me quit and we pushed through. I’m returning to work tomorrow and I have a bunch of small tasks left to go.

stay tuned

Drained the coolant system and started over. Ran the car until it got to 222° and decided to shut it down. The lower hose was still cool to the touch.

Last time, I drilled a bypass hole in the thermostat and never had an issue again. I’m going to drain it again tomorrow and put that thermostat back in.

what temp thermostat are you using and what size hole are ya poking in it?

Stock, so, 195* and I don't recall what size I drilled the pair of holes lol

In other news, left it on the battery tender from Sunday evening until Tuesday after work and it fires right up on it's own.

Flushed the coolant, again. Swapped in the bypass thermostat and pulled coolant back in under a vacuum. This time, I was rewarded with a steady 172° at idle. Sweet.

Buttoned everything up, ty-wrapped the world down, put the head and corner lights in. Pulled her out of the carport and sprayed the dust off the windshield and took off!

Took the car on a quick spin around the block to grab some data for tubing. Not satisfied with that, I drove it around for about 15 minutes and beat the snot out of it a little bit. If you gotta baby it, it ain’t built right!!
