After much consideration, and lots of comparison shopping, I’ve decided to go with an On3 fuel tank/hat setup. Quite similar to was @lwarrior1016 just installed but a few exceptions.

This is an On3 03/04 Cobra style, baffled tank. This has the fuel basket in the center of the tank and it better suited for my use.

This is an On3 triple pump fuel hat and fuel level sending unit. I will configure this to run one pump and have an 8AN feed and 6AN return line. My current Holley setup will run this and it should jive with my fuel gauge. I’ll also have to switch to a 99-04 style filler neck.

This is the most cost effective (under $800) way to improve my fueling situation, leave room for growth if the need arises and with the least amount of down time.

Still need to do this.

Ken Osborne: Read your email. I was mentioning to Kenton that I’m not a huge fan of Holley ECU’s. I used to tune a bunch of Formula-D cars with LS swaps and that’s the system a lot of those guys used because it’s cheap and offers a decent amount of features. One thing that I always had issues with as grounding. Holley systems are very sensitive to grounding issues, especially ground offsets. You get ground offsets when the different grounds for the system are grounded to different places on the chassis.
The best way I found to resolve this is to have a ground bus mounted and run a 1/0 cable directly from the battery to that bus. Then ALL of the ECU grounds need to go back to that bus, and if you have to stack any grounds, apply some dielectric grease between the grounds you’re stacking to reduce the chance of corrosion build up between the eyelets.
Ground directly to the battery and to the chassis. Then several grounds to the engine, the trans area, roll cage area. Basically try to make the whole chassis a giant ground, but DO NOT ground any ECU grounds to the chassis. Only ground to the grounding bus. That is your best chance of preventing ground offsets and should make the system run much more consistently. And if that doesn’t work… be like me and by a Motec M150.

Planning a power distribution scheme like this. I'll add the Cartek iso at a later date, after I'm satisfied with this.

Also, my tuner cleaned up the fuel map a bit citing the “MAP reading changes and it was falling into a part of the (fuel) map that was just that much richer. i cleaned it up . see if that helps”

Today’s episode, summarized:

Ok. Tried the tune revision he sent, which he leaned it out around the idle and low rpm zone. Car HATED it. Flashed previous revision, it at least idled. Weird. Jacked it up to inspect a spot I found on the o2 wire, found an additional spot of concern and wrapped it up with electrical tape. Rerouted away from heat sources (Pics below)

Anyway, went for a fresh tank of E85 and tried new tune again. Nope, flashed the rev again. Set the air pressure to 35 and then drove around for two hours.

No issues. Nothing. Starting to feel like the older fuel might’ve been a factor.

When I stopped for some lunch, I popped the hood to check things. Found the CAI wasn’t attached.

That harness looked like the O2.

Yes and my intent is to remove it from the main harness and replace it. I refuse to splice o2 circuits.

For now, I inspected it for compromised conductors and found none. Wrapped it with 33 and rerouted it away from heat sources.

About 50 miles and a few hours of aimlessly cruising around with no issues. Before, it wouldn’t make it a block.

I hope you don't have to lengthen your main harness if the newer O2 lead is shorter like the HP, Dominator one I have. At least you know where your issue is/was.

For me, the Crank Trigger is a GO! Got my new Innovators West bracket today (Holley's suck) and need to do a little custom work to fit the Hall Effect sensor.

THAT is the exact same harness that fell down onto my cat and caught fire, then caught the oily/cardboard under it on fire and singed the main harness. When I went back I used insulated c-clamps to hardwire it all in place and wrapped it all in heat protection as well, you really can't trust the wire ties that close to the exhaust was my discovery. Now if my back will just stop hurting I want to get back into it but I have been limping as it is.

No cats, no problems. Not really sure why it got burned, it was against the starter. Transference I suppose.

Sucks about your back :(
