yea there are times that you just can't say it enough times or loud enough. There have been a few times I have gone off, then suddenly remembered "oh yea I am right in the front of the house, are the neighbors or kids out?!". I have been lucky to be alone every time at least as far as I could tell. They might have heard me if they were in their back yards. Now that I think about it though I have heard them in the exact same tone towards their kids and I just kept my head down, paid no attention. I mean they are both teachers they should know how much/when to yell at a kid right?

Still thinking about your miss issue and wonder what Ver/Build you're running on the HP. I had something similar/same happening with an older "build" and it did the same thing. Not every time, not at the same RPM and would just creep up, like bad underwear. After doing more testing and then talking to a buddy, I put the latest Ver. 6 Build 220 in and the issue went away. Reading the update log from Holley said a minor comment about a ghost miss bug being fixed. Hope I didn't post this before, my old brain farts once in awhile.

Didn’t take many pictures but I swapped in new front rotors and the Hawk HP+ pads. Did some deep cleaning while I was in there and relocated a bunch of wiring to clear the rolling stock.

This is no detail job buts it’s an improvement for sure.

Set out to go help my buddy pull the Coyote out of his truck and bed the brakes while at it. These HP+ pads make an ass out of the Powerstop Trackday pads but we will know for sure sunday

At the time I was running V6 Build 220 and currently on Build 300. I’ve since reverted back to a tune with less timing and the car hasn’t missed a beat. No stumbling or misfires. That leads me to believe it might’ve been too much timing, not enough fuel or any combination of the two leading to my issues.

Damn that’s a nice weight . I’m scared to put my heavy pig on the scales . Going to start working on the weight thing . Nice to see you sorted out the drivability .

Not much to speak about lately but I did finally drive it around some today. Doesn’t like the hot weather much but it’s gonna have to learn.

Lol

As some might’ve saw in another thread, installed the flex fuel sensor harness. What I didn’t tell you was that I couldn’t remember if the Holley “power tap” connector was in the engine bay or under the dash. After a lengthy, expletive filled exploration behind the engine I determined it was under the dash. Found it by feel.

Few key strokes later:

I’m sure only a few will ever notice this but I couldn’t help myself. Ever since I pulled it off of Pegasus, I’ve waited awhile to put this on the car!

IMG_7539.jpeg

It runs using some custom, 1D AFR offset and Fuel rate tables but I’m not adding any timing just yet. It needs some fine tuning. Switched gears and started to prepare the new bumper for paint by installing the Q-latches.

IMG_7543.jpeg

IMG_7545.jpeg

Aftermarket parts suck. This bumper is super flimsy and the fit isn’t the best.

Messed with it some and determined the passenger side needs to be spaced out to line up with the fender arch. I have a plan and a trip to the hardware store is in order.

IMG_7550.jpeg

Somewhat better:

IMG_7552.jpeg

Mentioned how flimsy the bumper is and I plan to add a couple of supports off the core support to bolster the lower edges. I need to push the bottom out and bring the leading edge up a little to be satisfied with the fit. If that doesn’t work, I’ll go back to the drawing board. I’m also going to paint the core support black.

The passenger side sucks.

IMG_7553.jpeg

If I hold up on the bumper, it’s much better.

IMG_7560.jpeg

IMG_7554.jpeg

It needs to be here.

IMG_7561.jpeg

Over all the driver side looks fine.

IMG_7557.jpeg

I need to add a second Q-latch closer to the tire to help support it.

IMG_7558.jpeg
IMG_7559.jpeg

On a brighter note, the tires do not contact the bumper at all. This leaves me with a spot to secure a fender liner as well as support rods.

Switched the 87mm FAST tb out for a 92mm Motion Raceworks unit and I’m impressed, as usual, with the build quality. The installation was a snap although two of the machine screws on the old tb rounded off and I can’t remove the IAC just yet.

Since the throttle body is for LS engines, an adapter was required to fit the Coyote bolt pattern.

IMG_7568.jpeg

Then the actual tb itself mounts to that.

IMG_7569.jpeg

IMG_7570.jpeg
The beauty of their tb is the plethora of air inlet mounts available. I opted to the standard, 4” clamp on variety.

IMG_7571.jpeg

IMG_7572.jpeg

The CAI mounted right up with only minimal movement forward that does cause slight hood contact but this is only an issue with the GT hood. My Cobra hood will clear just fine.

IMG_7573.jpeg

IMG_7574.jpeg

The cable needs to be disassembled and then installed into the bracket. This is my task for tomorrow.

Cut some slots into the fubared fasteners with an dremel and removed them with a flat blade screwdriver. Moved the IAC to the throttle body and used the new, stainless hardware.

Pulled the braided cable out, installed the cable housing into the bracket and installed it. Set the desired 0% pedal level and tightened the set screw that secured the cable. The cable has been shortened by roughly 1.25-1.5”. Powered the Holley up and was rewarded with 0% closed and 100% WOT in the proper spots.

The TPS response seems very linear and it goes WOT without me having to “push the pedal through the floor”.

Drove it a little yesterday. Very light throttle and a lot easier to drive slow. Throttle response is pretty much immediate now. Pulls much harder than it used to. Didn’t do any WOT because it still isn’t tuned for E85 but I’m excited. IAC stuck @ 49% and I’ll probably just change it.

Still working the bugs out of the tune but it’s chugging E85 now.

IMG_8351.jpeg

Decided to ditch the flimsy, aftermarket Saleen bumper cover and put the Cobra bumper/splitter combo back on. I still need to finish trimming to fit the 315’s.

Paints pretty cracked from abuse but once she’s sorted I’ll ask my buddy to repaint it.

IMG_8767.jpeg

My new headlights from Madd Retros delivered and I couldn’t install them fast enough. The installation was easy and the wiring was 95% plug and play. The LED drivers plugged right into the stock harness and work perfectly.

IMG_8868.jpeg

IMG_8874.jpeg

Initially I had opted for “red demon eyes” but Brandon talked me into doing the full spectrum (RBGW) setup since the cost difference was negligible. I’m happy that he did. The wiring connected into pre-installed wire taps, I connected to a 12VDC source and grounded it.

IMG_8878.jpeg

I’ll take more/better pictures when everything is secured. These are just cool.

Love the work you’ve done. Really nice to see the car at this level of “tweaking the details”.

Thank you brother! She’s been neglected lately. Mainly because she was butt-ugly with the black bumper and I stopped driving it since I’ve had time issues. On top of that, I’ve been driving my Ram again since we bought Tiffiny the Lexus she’s been lusting after. I’ve been in full blown sell/trade the Ram and get a single cab F150 mode.

Getting back to messing with my Mustang is exactly what I need to relieve stress. More to come!
