Spaceghost 1998 - 2016 Gone but not forgotten Found a douchebag on Craigslist who was willing to trade me this 1998 GT for my 1999 VW New Beetle. This SN95 will now to assume daily driver duties. My goal for this car is to have a nice looking daily driver with a few cool, but subtle touches. Mainly just took random pictures today, focused on the tear down. While doin that, I did find some things out about the car. Mostly bad :deeplist: Pypes M80 mufflers: Both tires on the passenger side are split: Bent core support: The interior needs some minor touches like a new radio bezel, both outer ac vents, carpet and floor mats. I can deal with all of that for the time being. What is a good way to remove this? Project #1: Clutch job!! Really Ford? SIX CATS??? Wait on the clutch job he said... I'd drive it like it is he said...
Did some tie-wrap faggotry Polished my tips In lieu of the split tires, I robbed the unicorn for the Konigs Put on the wing from the unicorn Installed my /////Alpine cd player, bottom slot of course Filled it up, washed it, drove it home and shot a preliminary exhaust video
From the looks of it, all I would do to it is lower it a little bit and tint the windows and rock it! Looks good wingless and badge less, and I love those stock wheels.
If you are going to DD it I would try and find some Bullitt or Mach 1 springs mixed with a decent set of dampers and be done with it. Gets it lower than it was but not too low that it makes it a nuicance to drive. Perfect 4.6 2V DD IMO would be PI swapped, maybe a stage 1 set of CMS cams. Bullitt suspension pkg or similar, Bullitt/Cobra/Mach brakes or one of your 14" kits and some subtle body mods. That about covers the deficencies of a 2V SN95.
Well the benefit of buying a 15+ year old car is learning from our mistakes I like the 2V and it sounds really good with some mild cams. Try and find a PI Explorer engine to swap in there and get yourself an aluminum block as a bonus.
Tell me about it... The quagmired IRS project... Stupid budget appropriation committee keeps shifting capital project funds around to their pet projects.
I'm going to put the IRS into this car. Hopefully this thread doesn't get as ridiculous as my other one.
Slap that IRS in there. I got mine because everyone says how much smoother it is during the daily commute. Maybe someday I will actually know. Time for you to start combing Craigslist and the forums for cheap 2V parts.
I <3 drift stitching on sorta raggedy cars. I'm still sorta upset mine isn't noticeable on the 95. I was trying to find pictures of my buddies TC, but all the shots I have of it are of the non-stitched side...
Yay daily drivers! Once I get all my tires mounted up Friday, it's going to be time to go through all the little rattles in the suspension, then body work on the one dent, then the mods begin for me.
next the mod list should have my cobra headlights on it and you need a set of fender badges " gt " symbols lol etc
