Just picked up my new to me 99 GT and I can't seem to get a part of the driver window control panel to clip into place and it is quite the nuisance. Does this require a metal clip such as seen in the second picture? Or is there something broken here?

Thanks!

To add to this, I'd like to replace this silver door panel because it's beat up. Can I replace that itself or do I need to get an entirely new entire door panel? I can't seem to find the silver part alone.

I don't think mine has any clip, could yours be bent in a way it doesn't catch? I've seen those broken off too. I ended up buying the repops for both sides, finish is slightly different from stock, not as smooth, feels more like trim. But it works for me.

I've never seen that piece separate from the door

Could you possibly link me to what you had picked up?

This is where it pushes into, I'm assuming the plastic clip is supposed to catch the top of the plastic here

I have a complete dark charcoal driver door panel for 99-up cars in really nice shape I want to sell. Where do you live?

I'm in NJ, but if I'm replacing one I'd need to do the other. If I'm understanding correctly yours isn't silver where mine is.

Correct. I've never seen a stock door with silver trim like yours, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

That silver isn't OEM. So that means a stock door with silver trim does not exist........
