I own a '96 4.6L, and for the last year, it's broken down several times from seemingly the same cause. While driving, it will sputter out and die, and then by the next morning, it'll start right up again. After trying to diagnose it myself for about a month, I took it to the shop. They replaced the fuel pump and water pump (I had been having overheating issues at the time as well). I drove it for a while, and it died again. I discovered a leak in the gas tank where the sending unit sits, so I tightened the locking ring, and it stopped the leaking, however it died about 2 weeks later. Took it back to the shop. They replaced the electrical connectors that had probably been there since '96, and got new brakes while I was at it. I drove it to school and it died on the way back. I'm at a loss at this point. I've checked all of the relays, the fuel pump and sending unit have been replaced, and the shop refuses to take another look at it. What would cause a random fuel pressure shut-off like the one I'm getting?
Edit: Forgot to add, the starter does turnover the motor, it has compression, air, and spark. The problem is 100% fuel.
