Cerakote ceramic detailing products

So curiosity got the best of me and I pulled the trigger on the Cerakote trim detailer. I figured it’d be as good or maybe slightly better than all the other similars, but the real on Amazon Prime was tempting enough, so….

Applied it to my truck’s mud flaps, glass seals and even inside the door handles.; Stang’s glass seals.
Did so right after a wash per the directions and after about 10 days it’s still looking as good as when applied!

Gotta say, it’s better than similars for longevity and shine, so have no complaints. Next, I’ll go all-in and do the trucks bed/tailgate and bedside covers, which will take a good amount of product ($$)

Trim detailed, huh? I’m guessing this is the black trim strip that’s on the door at the base of the window? Do this product keep it from rubbing off the black residue when you touch it?

Did you take any photos? I did my 13 SHO a few years ago with it and was highly impressed. It still beads pretty well. I'll see if I can post some photos.

I always used my tire shine shtuff. Worked for me.

These pics are 3 days later after applying the Cerakote, a 350-mile 1-day trip thru CenCal (bug city!), overnight dew then left to dry on its own. Keep in mind these strips were a faded flat-black prior to treatment. I just swiped the dirt off to take the pics (didn’t use a moist rag or anything) with my finger. That’s why there’s dirt/dust at the top drivers side windshield strip.

I’ll give the Stang a quick rinse, take and post pics tomorrow. Apply 2nd coat if necessary.

Didn’t have time for a wash, so just wiped down the area and applied a 2nd coat for the hell of it…

P.S.- unless you’re dead accurate with the “wet naps”, tape off like you’re painting a bathroom or something. I’m having to scrape off the excess off the glass with a razor blade :-(

the question is how long does it last? Like I said I just used my tire shine stuff on all my trim and it never left anything on the glass and depending on the brand held up pretty well.

Made it through Wash#1 today. Same shine; beaded the water

Googled and YouTubed ways to remove Cerakote from paint: DA polisher and mild wax. Hit that up tomorrow

If you get some on the paint, yes.

But in hindsight I’m wondering if it’s pretty much the same thing as their ceramic paint coating. So maybe it’s not the end of the world it’s on there?

I’ll hit the roof tomorrow first WTH the DA and try to get the over-wipe (is that a word?!) off. Then I’ll buff the whole roof and hit it with the Cerakote paint sealer (or whatever it’s called). I’ll post afterwards

And you used it on the soft rubber trim? I've never tried it there because the package says use on hard plastic. I may have to test it out.

Yes, I put it on the weatherstripping around all the glass. Seems to work fine.

Prepped and ready to go. Debating whether to start wet-sanding with the 1000, 2000 or 3000 grit?
