Hoping to successfully replace it tomorrow. I bought a couple of aluminum quick-disconnect tools tonight at Advance. One handles 5/16 line, the other 3/8. Which size do I use? (Yes I know how to use the tool just need to know the size of the fuel line)

thanks...

Before 1998, yes... 1998+ it's a different method of connecting lines to filter, kind of like an internal locking mechanism.

Turns out the line size is 5/16, so I'll put that here if anyone looks in the future. $15 back in my pocket... or to beer... lol

my 92 f150 had that internal lock that a special tool was needed for. Pretty sure my mustang is the same...

Old filter out in a couple of minutes with this little guy. Best $15 I've spent on this car so far.

Goes in for ball joints, inner/outer tie rods and alignment tomorrow.
