Spare tire trunk set up?

Ok now I feel like an idiot!

It has been a decade since I have had my spare in the trunk. I get the tire mounted face down and fit the jack and hook bolt and secure the tire. It is nice and tight. My issue is what the hell should I have done with the tire iron? :wave: How the heck was this secured? 1998 cobra

I always wedge it at the far back, near the latch back kinda under the tire sidewall and tighten the spare down.
