[QUOTE="330CubeGt, post: 1167162, member: 10623"] Alot of people ask "HOW BIG" of a tire can i fit under the rear of my car.I have always thought the same way reguardless of funtion over form. I know that our cars on a 275-15 function just fine and manage sub 8 secound passes. But with my struggle to be different in the mustang world so to speak i came across a set of 345-40-17 Toyo Proxes Tq Drag Radials for a price i couldn't pass up so i got to work trying to stuff these under the car. Specs on the tires: 345/40R17 Suggested wheel width11.5-12.0-13.5 (I USED A 10.5") Weight 36.6lbs Height 27.7" Width 13.7" Some inner wheel well massaging with a Big F 'in Hammer (BFH) to all the sharp/rough edges was needed as well as quad shock removal on SRA cars. As far as the outer fender lip it needs to be rolled or hit with a (BFH) so you have enough clearance, if you don't roll the outer lip it will hit and it will cut the tire. In short thats all you need to do to squeeze a 345-40-17 under the rear of your mustang. My car (97 Cobra with 04 IRS H&R RACE SPRINGS) -They rub on the outside due to the wider rear but atleast they don't cut the tire. Roller and outside lip from inside the wheel well.
