For someone that wasn't pleased with the current Mustang interior, it won best interior in 2005. Ford has recognized the lack of quality of their interior materials and admitted to themselves that they needed to do something about this. I've read this in plenty of inter-company media outlets (at Ford). The Fusion and Milan interiors are made of better quality materials, if you sat in them. I would believe the new MKS is also made with these better materials. No reason for it not to be. The GTDI stands for Gasoline Turbo Direct Injected. This engine will not be a turbo diesel. This engine will be debuted in the MKS during the first year of it's production. Only Lincoln will have the 3.7L, the rest of the company will have a 3.5L turbo. Ford does have some great turbo diesels in Europe. They are not what you think of as a diesel 4 banger. It is difficult to tell it is a diesel by listening to the car run. They don't have the typical old diesel Mercedes sound. They sound more like a gasoline engine. Ford is going to be introducing these engines here as there is a buzz and a desire for them. They will also help meet the minimum mpg figures that the government is going to reguire. Do the 1/4 mile in 13 seconds and get 30-60 MPG. Not bad. This is not to say that ALL Fords will be made with these engines. I am sure there will be optional engines for those of us that can't fit a turbo diesel, or any 4 banger, into our paradigms. Don't be surprised to see ALL of the Big Three coming out with turbo'd cars again. Remember, you heard it here first. Steve
