I'm really looking for a low maintenance car in terms of color and interior, one that I can feel ok with just running through the automatic touchless wash like the rest of the world and worrying about other things, rather than always trying to be so anal like with my Mustang.
I was also kind of set on an SEL hatch but then when I realized I could get cloth in the Titanium and when I went to look at them today, I realized I like the Titanium better but I can't get Race Red or Oxford White and I don't care to pay $500 to get Platinum White if I can help it. I didn't realize the Tuxedo Black was metallic black which is sweet, but I've had two black cars and one metallic black, I'm done with black. I think for a DD cloth is easier to deal with since all I have to do is vacuum it and maybe steam it once a year, whereas with my leather I feel like every time I clean it I have to use leather cleaner and conditioner which is a pain in the ass. I'm really looking for a low maintenance car in terms of color and interior, one that I can feel ok with just running through the automatic touchless wash like the rest of the world and worrying about other things, rather than always trying to be so anal like with my Mustang. I just want something I can drive without worry or unexpected expense, and run through the was every couple weeks and vacuum out once in a while and leave it at that. Something easy. I'd like a Titanium hatch with winter package, mudflaps, and moonroof and that'll do. One thing to keep in mind is that for 2013 they are dropping the SEL trim level, so I think resale will end up sucking on 2012 SELs since in a few years the road will be full of Titaniums. Because of that I'm hoping they put Race Red as an option on the Titanium. When the hell are the 2013s going on sale? I can't find info for that anywhere except for the ST. It's gotta be really soon. I did get my first look at the 2013 Escape in person today, those are NICE as shit...buuuut, I'm not much of an SUV guy and if I were I'd want a higher trim one which pushes around $30k which I just can't/won't do at this point in time. I even flirted with the idea of a Fiesta, but I just can't see shelling out $20k for one of those tin cans. I'd like to trade the GT while it's still worth something, clean retail is $5200 which takes care of the tax and a couple grand downpayment on a new ride. As for all that My Touch crap, I'd like to know how much the subscription fee is after three years. If it's like $20 a year, fine, but if it's like $20 a month, F that.
