I've test driven a 2012 GT with brembo package. I was massively impressed. The has a LOT of grip, front and back (I have a full MM package on my car). Motor is a gem. Smooth as silk, quiet, powerful, gets excellent gas mileage, and power curve so flat, you can barely feel the acceleration (speedo will tell a different story of course). Chassis is very well sorted, stiff, quiet, well configured. One thing that was I really impressed with was how quiet the cabin is. 70mhp on the hwy, and I can carry on a conversation with a whisper. Part of that is because in S197 the mufflers have been moved behind the rear axle, eliminating droning that's associated with SN95 mustangs. Downsides... don't get base interior. No point to go cheap on a car like that, and base interior is really sub par. If you are spending 32k for a car, might as well spend another 2 for leather and premium package. Shifter is kinda vague. Partially it is because of the way Getrag positions their shifter gate (side to side too close for comfort), and partially it is because the bushing in the shifter is so spongy. I'm sure an MGW shifter or something similar will fix that spongy feeling. Also, there is talk going around that the Getrag transmissions are unreliable and have issues when trying to get into gears. My honest opinion that it is not a Ford issue. There is nothing wrong with that transmission. The car comes with skip shift, which blocks you from going into certain gears to increase gas mileage. Now people are trying some bootleg ways to disable that, by thinking that if you just pull a relay or whatever it was, that skipshift will be automatically disabled, and everything will be fine. I'm convinced that it's not that easy. This is why people are getting that issue where skipshift is not really disabled, and they try to force gears to engage against their will, and grind them down. Don't disable skip shift, or wait for someone to find a proper way to do it, and transmission will be just fine.
