Basically I found a reference to this thread -

Which is a long term test of opti-coat 2.0 vs urathane as LSP's on headlights.
So I went out and found a 1500, 2000, and 3000 grit wet sandpaper sheets (I got the 3000 on a velcro backed 6" pad so I could use my DA), along with a can of mineral spirits and outdoor clear gloss spar urethane.
Used a foam sanding block I already had, and cut the 1500/2000 sheets to match the foam block size. Filled a little tupperware container with warm water and a touch of soap, grabbed a crappy towel and some shop towels, pulled my headlights off the truck and sat down to watch tv and sand
I did not want to do this on the truck as I didn't want to bother wasting time to mask off the grill or risk damaging anything. Besides, the lights on an f150 come off by lifting 2 pull tabs and removing the bulb, it takes just a few seconds.
Anyways, here's my pics.
Before on left, after on right. (I know my lights weren't that bad, I just wanted them perfect)
Here's really the only during shot I have, which shows the post 3k sanding haze on the top area, and a test coat of the urethane after 15 minutes of drying in the sun on the bottom.
And after
And a shot of my new vleds flashback 2 color led blinkers
White with the headlights/parking lights on, and they blink amber, I had to install some 6ohm 50w resisters on them to get the blink speed back to normal but I like em, my old bulbs had the orange peeling off them.
