Hey guys I bought this 95 gt with aftermarket rear control arms. Had a horrible clanking noise when going over bumps and come to find my rear upper control arms are completely missing the top bushings on both passenger and driver side. Can anyone identify what brand these are and tell me if I can purchase just the bushing replacements or if I need to order the entire control arms? Also, what would cause this to happen? I know bushings crack and tear over time but they are completely gone on both upper arms at the top. Thankyou everyone.Messenger_creation_2D4D875B-1355-4675-A762-8B322B39C5B2.jpeg

That body side bushing looks gone. And what is this zip tie action I'm seeing?

I want to say they're Steeda arms but really any aftermarket SN95 arms are going to be old and it might not be possible to find only bushings for sale anymore. Cheap as they are, you might as well just buy new arms that already come with brand new bushings. That'd be my advice.

I'll take that advice. Probably be easier to install the entire thing instead of trying to press new bushings in. What do you mean by " body side bushing"? And the zip tie was holding that exhaust bracket to the side to angle the tail pipe a certain way ( don't ask, I bought this thing with a lot of rigged up jobs already done to it and keep finding more haha). I was taking my tailpipes off in order to pin point the clanking noise ( thinking it was the pipes) until I located my control arm issue

Most aftermarket arms don't have any press-in bushings like the factory arms do on the axle side.

I just dealt with a similar issue tracking down repair parts for the rear control arms that I took off of my 1993 2.3L autocross project car. I could be wrong about this...

Based on what I can see of the design, the hardware, and the fact that they have grease fittings, those could be JEGS control arms. Here's a link with photos: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/64500/10002/-1

They also sell a replacement bushing kit, which is what I used in my control arms: https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/64502/10002/-1

That might help you fix what you have. But, if you are looking to improve the handling of the car, there are better options. I've used Steeda UCAs/LCAs on my autocross cars for years. Their 3-piece bushing design is much better than the 2-piece bushings that come on most entry-level rear control arms. J&M also makes a set of rear control arms with 3-piece bushings.

Here's a video review that might help you decide on the best solution for your car. Steeda makes a version of these arms for 1979-1998 Mustangs:

If you decide to go with the JEGS bushings, make sure you use the proper lube. Some bushing kits don't come with lube. I've used Green Grease in the past.

The bushings are available at auto zone. It's fairly straight forward to put them in. If you have a vice to press them in.
