When I was test driving it, he said the CEL was coming on because one of the Smog line/s was disconnected and just blowing out into the air. The pump and all are still in place. My question is, from the research I've done the Smog shouldn't trigger a CEL., so why would the CEL be on? It comes on after driving for a bit. Once the car is turned off, the CEL goes off and does not come back on until you drive it again and it heats up. Are there a some lines you can remove without a CEL coming on and some you can't? I really don't care about the smog system at all and whether it works or it doesn't. I just hate CEL's coming on and staying on. If I delete the whole thing and remove the pump and add a shorter belt, anyway to keep the CEL from popping up? Where I am at in VA, we don't have emissions test, but I'm sure they are coming soon so I probably won't remove all of it, in case I need to hook it up to pass inspection. However, I will fail inspection if a CEL is on when I take it in.I ran a search and found some info, but nothing really specific to which lines you can remove and which ones you can't. Is it even worth it to leave it disconnected if I am going to leave the pump and all in place? I really don't like the thought of all crap going back through the intake though...</blockquote>
