Ok guys, well a while back i was getting a power surge after around 5psi the s/c would just seem to surge. I had a suspicion and it turns out i was right.... now ive been running for a few weeks like this and it works great!!! The thing is, vortech tells you to mount the bypass valve so the diaphragm side is seeing boost, after a while this will wear down the 8~psi spring inside and you will see a loss of boost pressure do to the system being bleed off, this can also cause the surging mentioned before. To fix this you simply swap the valve around so the port parallel to the vacume source is facing your intake, this leaves the side of the diaphragm to do the job of holding boost pressure and leaves the vacume source to open the diaphragm when needed which eliminates this problem. Now another thing is, due to some setups, other guys have had a bleed off problem where the vacume/boost refrence line does not see pressure fast enough and the diaphragm can be spiked open bleeding off boost yet again. So really this does fix most of the issues. Its also worth noting that this is how the valve is positioned from the factory on vw's, audis and porsche factory turbo cars Below is a picture borrowed from an audi site showing proper orientation-
