Blue wire w/ white stripe = Remote Amp Turn-on wire Orange wire w/ white stripe = Dimmer Wire. When you hooked up the wrong wire you probably almost fried something in your dash wiring harness, putting in a bigger fuse completed the task. Pull out your headlight switch, it probably has a melted plug in the rear of it like mine did. If it's not that, take a meter and start tracing wires, you've melted something somewhere. Start at the fuse block and see if it has power to one side of the fuse. If it has power to one side then it's something after the fuse and the dash wiring harness. If you have no power to either side of that fuse port, break out the wallet and take it to a dealership cause you have major problems in store for yourself.
