The last time I had my car tuned my tuner advised me that the car was getting hotter than he would have liked (I believe he said about 220). On my current setup I have a huge Truecool tranny cooler (probably about 2 feet long by 6 inches width) and this is mounted right in front of my Paxton FMIC, which in turn this is mounted in front of my stock radiator. I also run a 180 T-stat. I asked my tuner if I should look into an aftermarket rad, but he said that he doesnt think the stock rad is the problem, yet that I have too much junk blocking it. He wants me to move my tranny cooler from being mounted right in front of my intercooler (it literally almost covers the whole diamater of my i/c) and he wants me to get a new tranny cooler so that I can mount it horizontally under the car. Has anybody ever heard of this? He said I wont be able to use the size of the one that I have, but that he has had good luck with ones with the fans attached to them. I started researching and found this Mishimoto setup that has the electric fan. http://www.americanmuscle.com/mishimoto-trans-cooler.html He said that the air is just being restricted because of the pile up of parts before the i/c and radiator and that just by moving this tranny cooler to under the car that my temps should be normal. Input? Anybody used this product with success?
