Like an off the shelf cam. I just had an FTI Camshaft installed which was ground by Ed Curtis. A custom ground cam can be made specific for your application and what you want the cam to do. My off the shelf cam sucked, the car would stall and stutter and not idle at all. This cam I have in there now is awesome, it has not stalled once and it runs so much better. The power band for a custom cam is much better then a shelf cam. Shelf cams are based on RPM's for where their power is delivered and if your combo is not in sync w/ that it leaves power and drive ability on the table. A custom cam is made specific for your mods and what you want out of the car. I would recommend two people. The first link is who I went through and I am very very happy w/ his work. Yes they are more expensive but they will give you what off the shelf cams wont. What is your main reason for wanting a custom grind cam?
