And you are correct about long rods dwell time at tdc and bdc. Have you ever mathed out a modular 5.4l piston dwell? Its crazy long. I forgot the amount of crank angle the piston dwells at top and bottom but its crazy long compared to most normal engines. Remember, exhaust blasts out soon as the valve peeps off the seat. Typically around 55degree BBDC. Blowdown/cylinder decompression begins and as the cylinder is depressurizing, the piston begins to dwell......I got idea, lets open the exhaust valve at piston dwell!...wink wink.</blockquote>
