I did fire the car up again and this time it started as normal and the sound was gone. I was suspecting either a blown plug or an exhaust leak but now I'm stumped since it went away. I suppose its possibly one of the idler pulleys chirping but I figure that would be rpm related and not load related. Edit:nevermibd the sound is back. It's more of a ticking sound and it happens on acceleration.checked 7 plugs and they were good except one was a tiny bit looser than the rest so I tightened it up some. One more to pull but it's hard to get to...the idle is a bit shakier than before, and there's a CEL on. For some reason my obd scanner won't communicate with the ford ecu so I can't read the code.edit: got the reader to go through by flicking the ignition switch on and off multiple times. Code is p0354 ignition coil D primary / secondary circuitso funny enough that coil is cylinder #4, the one that I haven't been able to remove. I'll try that one again tomorrow as I don't really feel like messing with it anymore today. In the meantime does anybody know what this fuse is for?
