So I got pissed and managed to bend the metal enough to fit the corner of the box through you can see where they cut the metal so they can fit the box. Wouldn't you think that at this point, maybe just get a smaller box? If you need to chop the car up then you're doing it wrong. Tight squeeze but with the help of a mallet I turned it 90 degrees after a lot of wiggling and flexing of the metal I got it out. You can see how massive the box is when standing next to the lower seat half, see why it won't fit through the trunk opening? Empty trunk that smells like a public bathroom The box was SO heavy, at least 70 lbs empty. I figure it's all about 200lbs? Gotta say the car feels way different, even just driving around town. It takes less throttle to get it going, engine braking now slows it down, and turning just feels better. It's definitely very noticeable. I did a pull up to 120 and I can't say it felt quicker but it did get there in good pace. Now of course I gotta put the rear seat and trunk floor back in which is like 50-60lbs. Not keepin the spare though. Also since I pulled out the sub my radio no longer turns on. So I got more wiring to do. Hopefully I can rewire the speakers because only 1 speaker ever worked on the car. If I can have all the original speakers working again I think that would be worth it over having a subwoofer. Plus now I have useable trunk space.
