You will need a custom tune so that fuel can be added. I believe you have to add 20% more or so across the band. You will get less mpg but with a tune set specifically for E85 you will pick up some power. You will be able to advance the heck out of the timing due to the cold burn of E85. You may want to research the pump and lines as well as alcohol has a tendency to corrode materials. A lot of people will come on here a knock E85 as a temporary patch for our need for fossil fuels and that our production is insufficient. The production part is correct. Our production is mainly provided by corn (stalks, ears, etc) and uses a lot of water in the distillation process. Some companies that distribute E85 recycle their water and others dont. The ones that dont are a major user of fresh ground water (not good). Corn isnt the best plant to use for a high yield either. Some countries in South America run almost all of their auto's off of ethanol and do it efficiently. Their growing season is much longer (pretty much all year) but they also use other plants for glucose such as grasses and canes which have much higher yields per volume than corn. While we may not be able to grow as much fuel plants as them we sure can grow grasses and canes high in glucose/sugars which can help the manufacturing problems we are having right now. We will have to benchmark other counties to get it right though; something American pride (I mean government) can get in the way of. Hope this helps, Matt
