Message: <blockquote data-quote="shovel" data-source="post: 1589969" data-attributes="member: 29855">I haven't updated this in a while because I was working on a lot of other things..Here's what I have to add at this point -[ATTACH=full]50552[/ATTACH]It all appears to be working,  I'm going to wrap spiral loom around the wires to give them a bit more vibration and abrasion resistance.   Remember these are largely enclosed by the wheel well liner so I don't anticipate a huge amount of moisture getting up there as long as I don't just go tearing through standing water.  It was necessary to do a little trimming (roughly the area of a dollar bill, but a triangle) of the fender liner at the bottom near the frame rail to clear the pump and bracket.    After I take this thing for a few drives and get a feel for the "volume knob" and where I want the assist level to be I'm going to just measure the resistance across the knob and replace it with a resistor. That's why the knob is not mounted in any kind of weatherized situation - it's only in there long enough to evaluate it. Maybe i'll go nuts and get two resistors and a weatherproof toggle switch for 2 different levels of assist. What I'm not going to do is complicate things any further than that with wires through the firewall or GPS stuff.So far inside my garage with the hood open I can't hear the pump over the engine idling unless I get close to it.   Hopefully that fact remains when everything's buttoned up for daily driving.</blockquote>
