Message: <blockquote data-quote="g36 monkey" data-source="post: 1511038" data-attributes="member: 10997">The harnesses should be the same.  The heater hoses are different from 01+ if I remember correctly.  They also call the 03+ a 3.9, though I don't remember there actually being any difference.What are you seeing that you think is different?Either way, if you pull the engine anyhow, just grab the harness - just in case.  The head gaskets are the big issue on the 3.8 - and you're probably about due for them.  The good news, they're really simple and you could easily do them in a few nights after work if one goes before you get the new motor built.  You could always look into the 4.2 from the F-150, though I'm partial to that route.</blockquote>
