If you plan on dropping the trans under the car I don't think it matters. Possition it so you have good room on the sides, and so you can get it high enough to clear the top of the bell.If you plan pulling the motor/trans out in one shot, the engine hoist needs to roll on concrete, so if your driveway is dirt, don't back it in. Also, make sure your garage door is tall enough for the boom if you back in. I had this happen, 99% done engine was coming out, and the top of the hoist hits the garage door frame without clearance to get the motor out. Now what. lol</blockquote>
