[QUOTE="95PGTTech, post: 158829, member: 9525"] took the cobra to the track for the first time and ran her down the 1320 six times. might have gotten a sevemth if I had stayed but didn't want to get greedy and we were tired as it was. Atco raceway, NJ. One other SN95 rio red convertible there, didn't even approach me. all runs were made with the rear tire pressures as close to 20psi as I could get them. Nothing extra in the car that wouldn't have rolled off the factory floor. spare and jack, rear seats intact, etc. ran the car on less than 1/4 tank of 93 octane. I did not do any burnouts and I cleaned off all debris in the waiting lanes in between runs with a hard bristle brush. the car never got above normal coolant temperatures or ran poorly, made any sounds, etc. and nothing broke so I am very pleased. 1st run - first car to run on the track all day, I didn't want to go through the water box and "illegally" went around it and got hollered at...whatever...at the end of the day we could tell it would have been better for me always to go around it if they would have let me. R/T .797 60' 2.179 330' 6.114 1/8 9.625 mph 71.98 1000 12.471 1/4 14.867 mph 94.63 just basically sat there and waited until I felt comfortable, got a great launch felt just like on the street. slipped it from 2500 and went. missed 3rd gear, shut it down. 2nd run - tried the same launch, track had heated up and had some serious rubber on it now from some pro street crowd, absolutely hooked and bogged. R/T .682 60' 2.375 330' 6.306 1/8 9.513 mph 77.64 1000 12.234 1/4 14.525 mph 99.09 3rd run - same idea, finally got the tree down, although that was the last of my worries today R/T .199 60' 2.333 330' 6.261 1/8 9.456 mph 77.69 1000 12.141 1/4 14.390 mph 100.73 4th run - knowing the track is really hot and thinking I only may have one more run, I want to go all out and aggressively slip/almost dump from 4000rpm. when I go up to the tree, they now have a cone blocking me from putting it into the groove, so I am forced to run where the hot sticky rubber is not...1st is useless, I hold it spinning at the redline until they finally hook, then grab second with a bark. interestingly, I learned the most from this run.
