[QUOTE="DFG_magic, post: 617297, member: 10108"] The car was painted earlier this year. The key to wetsanding is making sure you have enough clear. I hit the car with 1500 grit 3m paper with a wet foam sanding block. If you are trying to smooth your finish and don't have many imperfections, 2000 grit will do the trick. The sand scratches are harder to remove the lower grit you go. After wetsanding I buffed the car with a Heavy cut foam pad with Auto Magic #99 Magic Cut. Switched pads to a 3m waffle polishing pad then went with a coat of 3M Imperial Hand glaze (great for minimizing compound swirls on dark colored cars). Finished everything off with a soft finishing pad with Auto Magic #90A XP Swirl Remover/leveling wax. Did all of this using a Dewalt DW849 High Speed Buffer. Similar results can be had using a Porter Cable style DA but of course the process will take more time. The paint is now pretty much free of imperfections and swirls. Thanks for the comments folks!
