Not that it matters but curios about gear ratio. 1995 GT convertible automatic. Yesterday on the highway at 50 MPH in drive (OD turned off) I was turning about 2200-2300 RPM. tires are just a tad under 26" tall. From my quick online search it shows 3.56 so guessing 3.55 gears? Sound right?

Thats a good speed to rpm cruise ratio. Youll get all kind of answers about gear ratios. Long story short, if its a driving car, the gear you have is good for the purpose. If you want something hot off the line a deeper 3.73 or 4.11 is what you want

The problem is the torque converter might not have been locked so it may not have 3.55s. Put it up on jackstands and count the number of rotations of the driveshaft for one full rotation of the rear tires.

With your car having the aode, I’d recommend 4.10s.
